Whether you’re recovering from an injury, managing chronic pain, preparing for motherhood, or returning to the activities you love, Amy Baldwin is committed to supporting you every step of your journey.
With a compassionate approach and evidence-based treatment, Amy believes that every patient deserves personalised care and the opportunity to achieve their individual goals. Her focus is not only on relieving pain but also on restoring confidence, improving function, and empowering people to live healthy, active lives.
Amy Baldwin is a passionate and dedicated physiotherapist who has devoted her career to helping people regain movement, restore function, and improve their quality of life.
She graduated from the University of Pretoria in 2016 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy and has remained committed to continual professional development, expanding her knowledge across a wide range of specialised areas.
Amy completed her community service at Far East Rand Hospital in 2017, where she gained valuable experience treating patients across multiple disciplines, including orthopaedics, paediatrics, neonatal intensive care, and musculoskeletal rehabilitation. During this time, she established a chronic pain exercise programme for patients living with persistent back pain—a project that reflected both her initiative and passion for improving long-term patient outcomes.
In 2018, Amy entered private practice, where she developed extensive experience treating sports injuries while working with runners, cyclists, and triathletes. She joined Claire Kourie Physiotherapists Inc. in 2021, broadening her expertise within both outpatient and hospital-based rehabilitation. In 2025, Amy proudly assumed the role of Practice Manager and senior physiotherapist.
Amy has a special interest in treating:
Having represented South Africa as a Senior Protea Gymnast and competed internationally, Amy understands first-hand the importance of movement, performance, and injury prevention. Today, although she no longer competes in gymnastics, she continues to embrace an active lifestyle through cycling, swimming, hiking, and CrossFit. Her personal experience allows her to relate to athletes and active individuals while appreciating the physical demands placed on the body. She believes movement is medicine—and helping people return to the activities they love is one of the most rewarding aspects of her profession.
Becoming a mother to two children gave Amy an even deeper appreciation for the physical and emotional changes women experience throughout every stage of life.
She is passionate about supporting women through pregnancy, postpartum recovery, pelvic floor rehabilitation, and other women’s health concerns. Amy provides compassionate, confidential, and evidence-based care to help women regain strength, confidence, and comfort while improving their overall wellbeing.
